Donate
We strive to develop sustainable projects. In time, most of our projects will generate funds to sustain them. For new projects, we continue to depend on the goodwill of donors. We also continue to support some established projects that need funding. We are grateful for the help of donors.
We are a registered Trust and NPO and comply with the best practices in corporate governance. The Trust and its partner organisations comply with legal and other requirements for trusts and non-profit organisations and are registered under sections 30 and 18A with the Receiver of Revenue. Therefore your donations are tax deductible. The legal structure encourages democratic participation and reflects the rights-based approach of the Trust.
We are grateful for your donations and also understand you may first want to know more about specific programmes and underlying values. We are happy to provide more information on our projects, measures to ensure efficiency, and embedded values.

Volunteer
Volunteering at the Greater Stellenbosch Development Trust is an opportunity to help a dynamic community and immerse in a new culture. Our volunteers have played a vital role in developing and maintaining the organisations and communities they support. They come from all over the world, with the lengths of their stay varying from a couple of weeks or months to a year. They were, at times, the backbone of many projects.
Volunteers can sign up at our Trust Centre in Stellenbosch. You will be placed in one of three areas, i.e., education, culture or general community initiatives.
Depending on their interests and skills, volunteers could be placed at established organisations or emerging projects.
For example:
Vision Afrika Primary School
The Vision Afrika Primary School pre-school and school programmes are always grateful to receive volunteers. As a volunteer, you could work as a classroom assistant. There is an activity club once a week where activities for art, sports and music are offered. Our volunteers are encouraged to put their own passions and experience to good use by leading in these. Teach art classes, dance lessons or whatever you’re interested in. Volunteer support would also include helping the children with their homework, encouraging them individually, and giving them learning support.
Inzink
In the InZink programme, volunteers can help with activities such as music, performance theatre and short films. There are programmes for young and old. Amazink, a nearby eatery, also offers performances from time to time. Volunteers are welcome to use any prior experience in music, theatre or other fields to help out.
SEED
SEED volunteers can help budding entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. Many first-time, or even long-time, business owners need a fresh perspective on their ideas, and volunteers can provide this vital push in the right direction. If you are innovative and can help with setting up business plans or offering general entrepreneurial advice, this is where you can make a difference. Assisting local businesses can profoundly impact the community and even the local economy, and outside expertise is never turned away.

During your stay, you can live either in the town of Stellenbosch or in Kayamandi. You could also start by living in Kayamandi for three months and then decide if you want to move. Living in Kayamandi will allow you to see the community from the inside. Also, it is convenient to live this close to your place of work.
